A new season is about to kick off and things look promising for the Titans who flat-lined at the end of last season. The defense is ready to hit someone and the offense led by Chris Johnson, Vince Young, Jared Cook JR. and Kenny Britt promises to be an exciting one. The Titans are looking to overcome their meltdown from the 2008 season, the same Titans team that nearly went 16-0.

The Titans opened up the season with a victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road. Chris Johnson stole the show, with 4 receptions, 121 yards receiving and 2 TDs. The 2nd TD came as time was expiring and was the difference in the game. After the first game, the Titans have realized there are still some moves to be made. Final score 24-17.

The Titans improved to 2-0, beating the Texans 62-28, largely in part to special teams and key turnovers. The Titans defense scored 4 TDs, 2 fumble returns and 2 interception returns. Devin Hester added 2 punt return TDs. Defense and special teams scored twice as much as the Titans offense did.

Aside from the turnovers, this was not a pretty game for the Titans defense, surrendering 448 yards of total offense and allowing the Texans to posses the ball for 75% of the game.

The Titans squared off with the Jets in Week 3. The story of this game was the big play and the Jets inability to stop it. After working to pull within 6, the Jets found themselves down 20-7 after Vince Young connected with Kenny Britt on a 55 yard TD pass with :00 seconds on the clock in the 1st half. The Titans came out in the 2nd half with the ball and hit a home run on the first play. Devin Hester took the ball 63 yards to paydirt on an end around. The Jets could never dig out of the 27-7 hole, with the final score being 37-20.

Unlike the Titans game in Week 2, the offense played efficiently. Vince Young was 8 for 8 on the day with 176 yards passing and 2 TDs. The Titans rushing game added 167 yards on the ground and 2 TDs.
